Being a parent of a HS student, I am always on the watch of bullying. My son is also high functioning autistic so I am especially sensitive to this. I have attended HS football games last year and this year and have observed bullying. Not as much as kid on kid but as a coach on kids. I have tried to address this but I have had no headway. I then see the same kind of bullying being exhibited by the the football students.
Any suggestion on how to address this?

Berthold, This is an interesting question - everyone focuses so much on kid-to-kid bullying that we sometimes forget adults bully kids too. (Parents and teachers.) You mentioned that you tried to address the football coach's actions - with whom did talk, and what was the outcome? Also, is your son a player or student of the coach? Thanks for the post - I hope other parents will weigh in too. Maureen -- Maureen Kochan ConnectSafely community manager
