i need immediate help of Simon.
Simon please if possible can you tell what you think about my situation and if you can do something for me?
here my trouble:
i'm a member of myspace.com and in the last days i was phished by someone that stole my password and with it he sent erotic silly comments on every page of my friends.
of course imagine the reaction of the best part of them. i lost several friends and now the worst thing is that someone is following me everytime i log off to pish me and find my password that i had to change not less than 5 times a day if i want to use myspace. the manager of myspace told me always that's was enough to change password to enjoy myspace without problems but my life is a mess because this hacker will go on to follow me and to pish me anytime i change passwords.
i can go on like this.
Simon please help me, if you need to write me use my personal contact ginny66@interfree.it .
i can't go on like this because i suppose this hacker is one of my friend in list that upsets of my fake erotic message ( of course not sent by me ) he's following me....without peace since 5 days.and he/she doesn't know was not me to post that comments.
i need to solve the situation. customer service of myspace ignore my mails of help.
hope you Simon could really help me. i can't go on like this in this bad situation: surely the hacker desires i left and delete my profile forever from myspace.
is possible to find him and stop him/her to phish me???
thanks in advance Simon...i know you will answer to me to help me.
thanks simon if you can't stop my trouble situation.
please contact me.

Anne et al, I just posted several embedded links to Cyberbullying info on our site (mostly pointing right here!) http://www.shapingyouth.org/blog/?p=395
and Simon has joined us over on the social networking hub for StopCyberbullying too...many thanks for all you're doing on this issue. (and all others, for that matter) You have a fabulous resource here, and NetFamilyNews is stellar. With appreciation, Amy.

Hi

surfacing is the focus on 'pro-Ana' sites, as in anorexia; evidently kids are deleting search threads............

Could you please enlighten me on the Deleting search threads, are we saying a person who you believe has been searching these sites have had there internet searching history deleted.
If so can you obtain a copy of the hard drive or the hard drive its-self.
as i would like to conduct a examination of this as i "cannot believe" the kids are deleting the search threads to a extent that we cannot recover them.

Simon, thanks for the private ping on the e-mail, and for all your Forensic Support on this blog. No doubt you have valuable data to 'dig deeper' in the 'at risk' arena particularly...

I'm working w/Common Sense Media's 'speaker corps' and one of the 'risk' areas that seems to be surfacing is the focus on 'pro-Ana' sites, as in anorexia; evidently kids are deleting search threads, and as Anne said, the same ones that are 'at risk' offline are at-risk on.

The other site where your skill sets would be invaluable is where many of us are brainstorming solutions to the cyberbullying/cyberstalking issues so prevalent w/the kids---Anne, you and Larry would be invaluable there as well; as I mention this forum every chance I get in terms of 'real time' solutions to sticky probs. It's at: http://stopcyberbullying.ning.com

Simon, let us know if you'd like your own blog on this site (we could establish one for you but if might take a little while due to busy schedules). Otherwise, you could just start a new thread/topic. All best,
Anne

Dear all

Thank you for your thoughts.
When a child deletes his internet history, there is a way to look at what activity has been happening. i am even able to go to the extent of knowing what he actually searched for.

I am quite willing to analyse any data that you send me. but with conditions.

1. the child must be your daughter or son
2. the data must be from your computer sytem
3. a agreement must be signd by me and you, that all data remains confidential etc.

A) I can provid an application that will scan for specific files that will enable me to look at the internet history.

***** I am also in the process of altering internet explorer so the "delete" internet history and cookies cannot be used. (microsoft sue me if you want) im more interested in the kids welfare.

if anyone would like this please advise.
....

I could do with a area on this site to continue this as its becoming i think a good reasource.

Interview, yep good be a good idea but i would have to run it through my daughter.
She has Cystic fibrosis, and to be honest i would like to raise some funds for the charity so if anyone needs a analysis or would like any software i would appreciate a donation to CF trust.. but ill sort it all later as im still on a high!!!! lol
Regards to you all

Re: If I can be of any help

Apr 18, 2007 11:40 AM
...and the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline's site received 128,000 referrals from MySpace in the past year, they told me (see this article). Ninety percent of those clicks come from individual users' own profiles, not the Lifeline's profile in MySpace. But this isn't just about lives being saved - people call the Lifeline's network about depression, relationships, loneliness, substance abuse, domestic abuse, cutting, and how to help friends and loved ones with all the above. I was amazed to learn all this when I talked with Chris Le at the hotline's HQ in New York, and a lightbulb went on in my head. We were increasingly getting Net-related questions and emails from at-risk behavioral experts, so I'd been thinking, thinking about how some sort of network of various kinds of expertise could be developed. Then I interviewed Chris, learning that the Lifeline's network of crisis centers and hotlines nationwide pools all these different kinds of expertise. Chris also told me that the Lifeline was having great discussions with Facebook, Bebo, and other social networks, and I know Xanga's doing some important research in one risk area. There's a lot of work to be done, but it has started, and it's exciting to be aware of the potential the social Web has for helping young people.

Not to veer too far off forum matters, but Simon, your story (even anonymously) is of great interest to all on the positive aspects of social media, so pls. consider an interview?

Similarly, Yahoo groups media forum has united sperm donors with offspring/sibs who voluntarily wish to reconnect. (e.g. my goddaughter will someday find out her dad's genetics/her mom has already found her half-siblings, & they've met & played together in real life) So these reconnections are amazing uses of media in positive, impactful, alternative ways.

Simon,
That is awesome. I am so glad to hear that. For all that is bad on the Net there is So Much Good. I hope you two stay in touch and reconnect.
If I may ask I have been asked if there is a way to see where a child has been on the computer if they have deleted their Temp Internet Files / Deleted Cookies / and cleared History? I mentioned that there is an index.dat file but not sure if that is something that can be used. Not sure what to read that file with also. Is there anything short of Forensic Recovery Software that can be done?
Thank You and Take Care *Smiles

Hi and thank you Bill

Silvia. Ann is right im in the UK, and aulthough i would love to help, it would take time.
advice i would say is have you reported it to the Law Enforcement Agency if no do it then at least you have something on record. Also actually write a letter send it recorded delivery to myspace if you still dont get anywhere.

A Little note on a good thing, 2 days ago i found my long lost daughter after 16 years on BEBO contacted her and everything is going great.

take care all of you Simon
