looking for kids who use social networking sites for tv interview

I am a coordinating producer for Nick News, a kids' television news program. We are doing a show about internet safety and we are looking for kids to interview about how they use social networking sites. We are looking for kids between the ages of 13-16 who are online a lot and can talk about both good and bad experiences that they may have had online. We would also talk to kids about tips they may have for other kids. The purpose of our show is to give kids a voice about this topic -- there are a lot of stories abut what parents can do, but what are kids, thinking and doing that may help other kids?

If you know any kids that may be interested, please contact me at kara@nicknews.com
Thanks!!!

I am a teen and this sounds good. But I'd rather not give out personal info, and like demexii said, I'm against the ideas that a station like Nick would want to put out, but if you want a contrast of opinion, I'd work.

But how would you contact someone without them having to post personal info?

When did parents get so irresponsible as to have people do their parenting for them? Are they so spineless as to not be able to confront their kids and have a talk? Why is it that crooked politicians can manipulate fear to destroy our rights (patriot act) and ruin what separates this great country from the countless others that simply block people from things to teach them? How have we let this happen?

Sounds like fun. But I know for a fact that you would never let me onto TV. Way too "free flow of information" for a children's/teens' TV spot. But if you ever want to bypass your company's filtering/censoring software give me a call and I will walk you through it for free. :)

Sarah --
Thanks so much for getting back to me. To answer your questions:
Ideally, we would like to film about 4 teens. We usually call and talk to several different kids on the phone (we always talk to a parent/guardian first) and then from that we chose some to film for tv. So, those chosen would be on tv. We realize this may be a sensitive topic -- we never give last names of kids on tv, and we have discussed that for this show, if we need to film it so the kids are unidentifiable, we will do that. For the on camera interviews, we would tavel to where the kids are and film them either at home or school, or an agreed upon place. Again -- details are worked out through parents, not the kids.

We would like to talk to kids by Nov. 3rd on the phone, and then go to film the following week. For the kids at are chosen to be filmed, it usually takes a total of about 4 hours to do the interview and to film visuals to go along with the story (kids at computers, hanging out with friends, etc.)We would send a producer, camera person and sound person to do the taping. And, yes, there are legal forms -- Guest release forms -- that a parent or guardian would have to sign before we tape a kid.

This is Linda Ellerbee's show -- she is the host of our show and the executive producer, but she does not do any of the taping. If you forward along an e-mail address, i can send you press info about the show if needed.
Thanks!

Well I am 17 but if you are willing to bend the age bracket I can give you a story that happened to me about a year ago, and tell me what you want from people and I know a few people who may want to be involved

Hello - Sounds interesting, but I have some questions.

-How many teens do you need?
-Would these teens be on TV?
-How would they be interviewed?
-What is the timing/schedule? By when do you need to know who can participate? What is the schedule for interviews/taping?
-Who does the taping?
-Is this with Linda Ellerbee?
-Do you have any legal forms that kids/parents need to sign?

Thanks!
