Add to risks page: Expensive disinfection
Many innappropriate websites are willing to infect your PC with malicious software in order to make a profit. Frustrated parents frequently pay $300-$500 for professional intervention after spending hours trying to eliminate unwanted porn pop-ups or other nuisances.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. If you're running Windows (XP or otherwise), the simplest solution is to create a limited account for surfing the Net. This will prevent the user from installing any program. In XP the route is:
Start-- Control Panel-- User Accounts-- Create a New Account-- Limit it

I'm guessing that most home computers simply login with the Admin account and never think twice. You should password protect your Admin account and then create the aforementioned Limited *and do all your surfing from there*. The one disadvantage is that any time you want to install anything, you'll have to switch over to the Admin account:
Start-- Logoff-- Switch Users etc.

But then again... how many times do you want to install software on your computer?

Generally, you have to visit porn sites to get porn pop ups, so a simple solution is to not go to them
