Protect Your Kids On MySpace With Spector Pro

For the past several months, I have been trying to find software that will allow me to see what my kids are doing on MySpace and I finally found it. Now you might think I am mean because I keep tabs on my kids, but if you have had any experience on MySpace at all, you will understand that kids and even adults can get into serious trouble. Anyways.. I found a website called Tru-Review.com. They give a full reviews of software programs such as Spector Pro which can also be found at Spector Pro Software and it is amazing! If you are concerned with what your kids are doing online, I suggest you at least look at this software. If you know of any other program that works similar to this one, please let me know.. -- Edited by topparent at 09/13/2007 6:06 AM

I think that WebWatcher is just as good if not better at protecting your children online.

I have a great story on my blog about how it helped me to prevent my children from participating in something that more than likely would have landed them in some hot water.

I just want to first say that I agree 100% with a prior post, that kids safety is not negotiable.

I'm not familiar with the other PC activity monitoring products mentioned, but expect they work much the same as what I am using - Family Cyber Alert. Tools such as this are a necessity for keeping tabs on our kids while they are online, no different from what you do to keep tabs on their real world activity. I found www.itcompany.com to have some helpful info on this subject. Bottom line - I would highly recomend some type of monitoring software to give you a bit more control of this issue.

I use ProteMac KeyBag. It is very easy to use. Before you leave, set the time period to monitor the computer, and you create a record of who was on the computer and what they did. KeyBag creates a digital record of instant message chats, sites visited, notes written, and amount of time spent on the computer.
There are also different functions in this program.

Hi.....

To all moms and dads with teens or pre-teens, I want to give you a heads up about what your kids really mean when they, angrily, tell you that they want their privacy, or that such and such is none of your business.
As a parent, I know you are always concerned about whether your older kids are falling in with the wrong crowd; experimenting with drugs or alcohol; being exposed to Internet porn, predators, or the many other Internet dangers. You have been protecting them all their lives, however, kids are still kids, basically, accidents looking for a place to happen. You have the responsibility to know what they are doing, both in the real world and in the virtual world of the Internet.

I urge you to be the parent. It is in your job discription to make the hard decisions. Your kids may know more about computers and the Internet, but you know more about life, and it is up to you to keep them safe while teaching them about life.

Safety should never be negotiable when it comes to your kids.

If you're still having problems with SpectorPro I would suggest purchasing WebWatcher. They have really great controls and their stealth actually works, and trust me when I say that no child will detect this. All you have to do is install it on your child's computer and you can remotely view everything your child is doing. It has a keylogger

The great part about WebWatcher is that it allows you to create an admin panel where you can actually take screen shots while your child is on their computer, and they will never know! You can create different profiles from your admin panel if you have more than one child.

I thought this was great in figuring out if my child had a MySpace profile, she kept telling me she didn't and the email she had was not registered to MySpace, but I did find her MySpace profile through this software.

You can get a trial run at their website:

Let me know how it goes!

FYI if you're using Spy Sweeper and Spector Pro in stealth mode, Spy Sweeper can detect it. I just updated to the current Spy Sweeper this week and it found Spector Pro. Fortunately I was able to set Spy Sweeper to ignore it. I notified Spector Pro that it can be found and is no longer stealth but so far they haven't done anything to help or to fix it.
