I do not believe that bebo should be shut down...I think that you should take your 11 year old daughter off bebo. I am sure that there is an age limit of 13 and over for this site anyway.

Dear Mad Parent, I understand completely what you are feeling about Bebo. This social site is nothing but, a form of porn that our children can get to with in a few seconds. I have made it my mission the last few months since, I had discovered my children were on this site. I was so disgusted with what I have seen, it makes me sick to my stomach. The personal info that my children had on their profile was enough to scare the hell out of me. We since, then have made them cancel their profiles on these so-called social sites. I keep track and google their names quite regularly to make sure they are not setting up new accounts. We have also banned them from the internet at our house and have made it clear to them that we are keeping tabs on them. After checking into my step child's account and the friends that my step child was keeping, I soon discovered hardcore porn. I have taken it upon myself to monitor and report these crimes. I have reported over 400 to Bebo itself but, that is a lost cause because, they just come back as fast as they are canceled or their accounts are made private. I also noticed that these profiles, the users have their little pornographic icon photos and very crude usernames. When these accounts are canceled or made private these images are still there. When you click on them it will tell you they are canceled or private but, you can still see them and read the comments they leave, or they remain in the friends top 16. I then contact my local officials state and federal and even the state police's internet crimes unit. I eventually stumbled upon a site called Morality in the Media and with their advice have reported over 700 profile users through the obscenitycrimes.org, these are copied to the state attorney generals office also. I finally stumbled across this site and wrote Mrs. Collier with the troubles I have faced and she asked if she could publish the e-mail. I am so glad that someone has taken notice of my fight and I hope that parents will read it and realize how dangerous the world is around us and the potential of these sites. PARENTS, PLEASE KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR CHILD'S INTERNET USE. GOOGLE THEIR NAMES, NICK NAMES, FRIENDS, WHAT EVER YOU CAN THINK OF....YOU MAY SAVE THEIR LIFE....If you do come across any of this no matter what site you are on, report it to the ObscenityCrimes.org. We as parents need to take a stand and make our government see the big picture here. Thanks Jessica.
