I agree, it should be blocked. These individuals are capable of anything.

Welcome groto211, I'm so sorry you and your wife are going through this. Unfortunately this medium provides yet another place for bullies to act out.

I'm going to assume that you've put the person on your Block List. Is the person attacking you in a public forum? If that's the case, detail the abuse in an email to abuse@facebook.com. Include lots of detail, URLs, and examples in which the person is violating Facebook's Terms.

Beyond that, you can also contact the police, but they may or may not take up the case, depending on their department's policies regarding online harassment. (You can also hire a lawyer to get a restraining order, if you feel it's warranted and worth the expense.)

Please let us know how it goes for you both, OK?

Best,
Maureen

I'm posting this complaint in regards to an individual named Kathy Wiley that has been a thorn in me and my wife's side since moving into the area. This has recently continued through harrassment on Face book. There is an endless cycle of abusive language, and derrogatory comments that have surfaced from this individual. It has caused anger and stress between my wife and I. This individual is capable of breaking homes apart and I'm ultimately concerned for all of my family. I understand about blocking a person etc... and using the features for what they are worth .However, I want to put an end to this continuing saga and to help my wife out. Of course as a concerned husband I could have added fuel to the fire and engaged this person in every way possible, but I personally don't want anything to do with it. I suppose I could go on forever but perhaps this individual should be banned from facebook and destroying a good thing. Can her profile be eliminated? Thank you so much for reading this and your concern.

Marley, Send me a list of all the fake profiles' URLs (a URL is the unique address shown in the address bar at the top of your browser window - it will begin with "http://" or "www") to my attention at admin@connectsafely.org. I'll forward your message to our FB contact and let you know what they say.

I have tried reporting/blocking the accounts but it keeps asking for original e-mail address applied to original profile there is not an original profile because my daughter does not have her own profile or the url address which it does not accept, I,m just going round in circles, but I will try again.

Marley, I'm so sorry about this. You should report the profiles to FB - click on "Report/block this person" on the left-hand side of each profile. If you don't hear back from FB (or the profiles haven't been deleted) within a few days, let us know and we'll pass your message to our contact there.

Best,
Maureen

We’re not part of FB, so I can’t access their accounts. I can refer the profile to FB customer service, and they’ll take a look and decide if any Terms were violated. When did you report the profile? Best,
Maureen

the account has been reported and there hasn't been any response from facebook. that is why i was hoping that you could directly take up the issue with them and help me with the problem. i request you to get this person off facebook or atleast delete the offending content. the content refers to the girl and calls her a whore . it has been deliberately put up to offend and insult her in front of the many mutual friends they had. i request you to look into the matter as soon as you can as it has already been a week that the girl has been suffering from acute depression because of all that is happening.

Hi Mr Anderson, I'm sorry to hear this. Did you or your friend report the profile or content to FB, and if so, when? What was their response? (If the account hasn't been reported, I would suggest you do that now.)
