Hi, Lollypop: ConnectSafely, a nonprofit organization that helps families with Internet safety issues, operates this site, not Hi5. (We do have a contact at the company, however.) When did you first report the profile to Hi5?

Hello,admins of hi5! I really really need your help! http://www.sandbox.hi5.com/friend/38178339--A--Profile-html this profile is ruining my life and my engagement! someone put my photo and writing very inappropriate things about me! i tried to ignore it but eventually it DESTOYED my Engagement!it caused me very big pain and awful breake up from my fiance!!!SO PLEASE TAKE A SERIOUS CONSIDERATION AND HELP ME TO DELETE IT! i tried everything!i Reported abuse so many times but it is not working!!! PLease HELP ME!!!! |

Hi, Socrates, Hi5 can't identify any inappropriate behavior associated with the profile and won't cancel an older account without solid evidence of Terms violations. I'll ask our contact to email you - send your email address to my attention at admin@connectsafely.org.

Hi, Socrates, I'll forward your message to our contact at Hi5, though I can't make any guarantees we'll hear back. And, as I'm sure you already know, a profile deletion doesn't always mean the end of a fake profile since the perpetrator can post another one in minutes.
I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything...

Hi Maureen and thanks for the reply. I have reported this user a few days ago, that would be the 14th- if I'm not mistaken. I am aware that the team needs some time to investigate this. Could you please let me know if they sort things out?

Welcome Socrates, When did you contact Hi5 about the imposter? (They usually take about 4 to 6 days to respond, and we need to give them sufficient time to investigate.)

Boglorena, Hi5 has removed the account. But you should know that a profile deletion doesn't mean the perpetrator can’t post another fake profile under a different URL. If that happens - and it often does, unfortunately - you'll need to report the new fake profile to Hi5.

Hello Maureen, I would be grateful if you would help me as well , since I have a similar problem: http://www.hi5.com/friend/profile/displayProfile.do?userid=63845054 This profile is fake, someone copied information from my profile (i.e. name, date of birth, location, sex) and he is impersonating me. He also uses embarassing tools (e.g flirtbox, etc) in his main profile, thus insulting me and sends dity messages to some of my friends. I have also reported to the hi5 team, and in addition, I spoke with some friends who have a hi5 account about this user. They reported him as well for impersonation.However nothing seems to have happened. Could you help me please? |
